Made from organic cacao beans, our cacao butter is great for a number of different uses, from chocolate-making to skincare. Cacao butter is one of the most stable and highly concentrated fats known, making it easy for the skin to absorb as a natural moisturizer. When applied topically, it creates a barrier between sensitive skin and the environment and also helps retain moisture.
Cocoa butter contains cocoa mass polyphenol (CMP), a substance that inhibits the production of the immunoglobulin IgE. IgE is known to aggravate symptoms of both dermatitis and asthma.
FUN FACT! Cocoa trees need to be planted next to tall trees in order to protect them from direct sunlight. It takes 3 to 5 years before the cocoa tree bears fruit. EACH TREE produces around 1,000 beans a year, but that is only enough to make about two pounds of chocolate.
