This variety of hull-less pumpkin seeds originated in the 1800’s.  Our Styrian Pumpkin Seed butter is made from these seeds that have been lovingly grown in the USA on an Organic Farm in Oregon. Enjoy this super-seed butter’s rich, nutty flavor in smoothies, sandwiches, in raw treats, smothered on fruit or simply as a healthy snack straight out of the jar!

Why are Styrian pumpkin seeds darker than other pumpkin seeds? They contain a wide variety of antioxidants, like alkalizing chlorophyll, eye-protecting lutein, and zeaxanthin (about as much per serving as kale!), hormone-balancing lignans. They’re also bred to be a better source of both the alpha- and gamma-tocopherol forms of vitamin E, already found in small quantities in other pumpkin seeds. Plus, they have something you won’t find in other pumpkin seeds at all: an antioxidant that may help treat incontinence and other prostate and bladder issues. Austrian folk remedies have long relied on these seeds, but we’d need more studies to know for sure.

Our Better Than Roasted (BTR) sprouting process maximizes the bioavailability of essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients in our Styrian pumpkin seeds.  Read more about our BTR process HERE.

We stone-grind our Styrian pumpkin seeds slowly at low temperatures for the smoothest, most nutritious butter possible - after all, that'show nut butter was first made.  Read more about the benefits of stone-grinding HERE.

FUN FACT! There’s no need to shell Styrian pumpkin seeds. They don’t even have a shell, just a thin, silvery membrane that protects the precious seed inside.

Shelf life: One year if properly stored

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark area. If stored at room temperature, oil may separate - stir before you enjoy!  Sprouted nut and seed butters can be refrigerated or frozen to extend freshness.
