They have a right to be snobby. Brazil nuts are high in selenium, magnesium, copper, and phosphorus, and they also contain thiamin and zinc. And although they’re quite high in fat, it’s heart-healthy unsaturated fat with a dose of fiber, making them a satisfying snack that won’t leave you feeling hungry.

Selenium is essential to the immune and thyroid systems, and it’s a powerful antioxidant. Just don’t eat a big helping of Brazil nuts every day-- too much selenium isn’t a good thing.
Shelf life: One year if properly stored
