What Makes It Special
We sprout and stone-grind 100% organic black beans to create a rich, earthy flour that works beautifully in both sweet and savory recipes. Our sprouting process helps unlock nutrients, improve digestibility, and naturally enhance flavor, while stone-grinding preserves delicate vitamins and minerals. The result is a smooth, flavorful flour with depth, versatility, and serious nutritional value.
Nutrient Benefits
Black bean flour is naturally high in plant-based protein and fiber, making it a satisfying and nourishing alternative to refined flours. A quarter-cup serving contains about eight grams of protein — more than an egg — and is a good source of iron, folate, magnesium, vitamin B1, copper, manganese, phosphorus, and molybdenum. Its low-glycemic profile helps support balanced blood sugar levels.
How to Enjoy
Use as a gluten-free flour in brownies, breads, and pizza crusts. Add it to veggie burgers as a natural binder and protein boost. Cook it into hearty fillings for burritos and enchiladas, or blend it into creamy homemade black bean dips. The possibilities — and BEAN-efits — are endless.
Sprouted & Stone-Ground
Our Better Than Roasted (BTR) sprouting process increases the bioavailability of essential nutrients, removes bitterness, and concentrates flavor, yielding a sweeter and more easily digestible flour. After sprouting, the beans are slowly stone-ground at low temperatures to help preserve their nutritional integrity.
Fun Fact
Black beans get their deep color from anthocyanins — the same antioxidant compounds found in blueberries and bilberries, known for their vision-supporting benefits.
Storage
Shelf life is up to one year when stored in a cool, dry, dark place. For extended freshness, sprouted flours may be refrigerated or frozen.
