Quinoa is a quick-cooking, nutritionally dense alternative to brown rice or pasta. Quiona is a great source of iron, calcium, potassium, zinc, vitamin E, selenium, manganese, magnesium, copper, phosphorus, and fiber!
A 3/4-cup serving provides 15 grams of protein, 25 percent of your daily iron and magnesium needs, and 40 percent of your daily fiber requirement. It's also a rich source of potassium, folic acid, and vitamin E. This light, delicate grain cooks in about 15 minutes, half the time it takes for brown rice. Quinoa can be served both cold and hot and can be used in a variety of salads, soups and entrees.
